So it has been pointed out to me that saying that I ‘put a tape dispenser in a microwave’ implies I put it in the microwave, closed the door, and turned it on. Well, I didn’t. And I didn’t intend to imply that either - though the wording now does seem to sound that way… ‘I put it in the microwave’… it is true that when one usually says that, visions of something inside getting nuked comes to mind, though how else would I state the simple fact that I had simply placed the dispenser in the microwave without turning it on? Our world is full of complexities…
