Rhythm is a Dancer ripped off Auto-Man by Newcleus. I just found this out, and it is quite a shock. Not because I love Snap, but just because it makes me realize that even then everything was recycled and re-used.

For the last few months I learned a new phrase from an old fart i used to work with. I thought it was cool and named my Ipod after it - “Green Apple Two Step” i thought it meant you had to go bathroom #1 - Take a leak. but as it turns out it REALLY means you got a case of the runs!!! Well, i would have been sure to make a gross error one day…

I was reading about Times New Roman in “The International Type Book” and was intrigued by the mention of a 4 3/4 point version of Times used for “small announcements” called Claritas. Much to my surprise when searching the web, I could barely find any mention of this face. I’d love to see how Times is modified for usage at that small of a size.

I have just heard the same 4 friggin songs about 10 times in a row because my Polish friend behind me obviously has no concept of how FRIGGIN IRRITATING IT IS! Well, at least hearing 4 songs on repeat is better than one Crystal method song on repeat for 1/2 hr. Oh well, coworkers will be coworkers!
Also, Firefox is really annoying when the display glitches when typing in a text box.

Shakira is so weird. I’m not sure what the deal is with her weird body contractions and covering herself in motor oil, but it sure isn’t sexy. It’s just plain bizarre.

One Week Earlier : Our journey through the wondrous land of Salsa has finally manifested the happy monster that is HEAT. The recipe called for 2 Serranos, 2 Chipotles, and one red Jalapeno thing. Well, it so friggin hot. A bit past my enjoyability threshold. Oh yeah, and I totally forgot to put the green stuff - Cilantro - in. So it was very red. Ah yes, and one pear was added to the mix of tomato, onions, lime juice, peppers & cilantro. I also took the water that i soaked the chipotles in and boiled it down and threw that in too ;)
Today : This time I remembered the cilantro! (Makes me remember when I once went to the store to buy Garlic, and cameback with Ginger! What an idiot!) I switched out the pear for an apple. So this time the salsa came out much more greenish. Pepper content was 2 Jalapenos and 2 Chipotles.

Another TCM evening. Tonight I stumbled across “Blow Up” which I had seen part of before. Funky movie set in the 60s with plenty of 60s weirdness and flair. Gotta love the part where the mime-mobile stops for a round of tennis.
Oh yeah, and it’s also the source for the Austin Powers’ photography scene.

My friend told me about this cool tool that is a hack of the new Google Maps (Gotta look deeper into this one) and craigslist, that lets you see immediately where the listings on Craigslist are geographically! Very neat. High geek factor. Very useful. HousingMaps.com

Was flippin thru channels and stopped on 2001 : A Space Odyssey playing on TCM (yay, no commercials! We have it on DVD, but they’re already packed away for imminent moving). Just in time for the 15 minute trippy sequence and subsequent incomprehensible “aging” and “star fe (how the hell do you spell it?) feoutus featus feutus feotus (i bet on this last one)” anyway! Right. It doesn’t make too much sense, but that’s perfect.
Well, after that was Logan’s Run, which is much more cheesey but still pretty cool. And whenever I try to think of the name a specific other old sci-fi flick, i can never remember it… Umm….. Velocity? Speed? Time? Running? Damn. Well, Logan’s Run is cool, we have it on DVD.
After that was No Blade of Grass, which was a pretty depressing world anarchy scenario environmentalist flick based in England. It was pretty stark and distinctly unhappy. All about the descent from civility into chaos Nice. Was worth the watch.
