I’m not exactly sure why this is so cool. Maybe it reminds me of an 80s, lo-tek version of a Poring - Check it out, Unicorn Jelly

Blergh. Well, CSS would be a beautiful solution to every web layout conundrum if only you didn’t have to write a hack every 3rd line of code to force the CSS to work on all the browsers that adhere to, or flaunt the web standards. My philosophy has been to use what is time efficient, holds up properly in a browser, and most of all isn’t about the ‘next best thing’ purely because it is ‘the next best thing.’ I think CSS has such power and flexibility, but needs to become properly implemented across the board browser-wise…. Till then I will use it for many things, but not if i have to write a hack at every turn.

Recursive Screen captures in Photoshop with some ‘exclusion’ layer settings applied to the layers

I noticed that on my PC, the modification i made to my blogger css style sheet caused an interesting typographic goof :

And so I was curious about taking a screenshot on Windows XP. After trying a variety of combinations of Shift, Ctrl, Alt & Prt Screen I got a message asking if I wanted to turn on high contrast mode. They are not kidding when they say “high contrast!” Shield your eyes :

Oh, and by the way, XP copies the screenshot to the clipboard, not to a (non-vector) pdf file like OS X. Ctrl-PrtScr copies the whole screen, Alt-PrtScr copies the active window. *snap!*

This is a nifty tool - drop in a url into the form and use it to check out their color scheme. [edit] Though - inconveniently, it doesn’t seem to work with the blogger template for some reason!

It’s difficult to learn things when captured in a void of interaction. I’ve always enjoyed control of web design elements, and have up until now used tabels to do that. However in the last few months I have been discovering the power of CSS, and very recently have been motivated by the Blogger template code to start using CSS exclusively for page layout. It’s quite surprising I have never done that before considering the programmer inside me, but that’s the ‘void’ for ya. Here’s some info on CSS Layout on A List Apart

So I finally got off my lazy be-hind and changed my blog template to something decent. Well, I guess it’s all good since no-one reads this tripe, and it was never intended to be a serious venture either. Yeeee-haw dawgy!

I was watching VH1 in the usual ‘dazed’ and ‘ignore most of this crap’ mode and was awoken from my boob toob haze by something totally hilarious - The fact that the Dave Matthews Band had been accused of emptying the shit tanks on their tour bus from a bridge. And as if this wasn’t bad enough, the 800lbs of poop landed on a architechural sightseeing bout right under the bridge!!!! Its the most hilarious thing! Now where’s the pics????
