Shocking Powerbook

I use an Apple Powerbook Titanium alot. The paint on the edges where your wrists sit has flaked off, exposing the bare metal underneath. This in itself is pretty disappointing for a high end product, but getting shocked by that metal is even more disturbing. Most of the time it isn’t a sudden electric shock, but more like a slow buildup of tingly feeling that ends up as a nasty buzz. I’ve seen places that sell TI-Paint touch up for the paint problem, but I’ve also read that it isn’t worth it.
update: a search on the problem turns up quite a few users with this problem on TI-books

Yikes, do you know if anyone else is having similar experiences? That is crazy! Apple got sued over the iPod scratches, I would think this is worse!

i have the same problem with mine. I have also noted that wearing a watch, braclet, or anything of the sort seems to worsen the chipping. I would also like to note that I used TiPaint, and it worked great for me, however it chips away rather frequently and faster than the old paint. That being said the light color (the place where your wrists would lay) matched very well, the other color unfortunately not at all…

I get those nasty shocks too. Seems like I’m not the only one. Is there any way to fix this prob? ;(
