300 mph and faster!

Posted on January 16th, 2006

This footage of a test run of the Japanese Superconducting Maglev Train is really impressive. Seeing the speedometer just keep going up and up and up till it hits 500kph (~311 mph) is almost disturbing! A typical jet airliner goes 560mph. When you factor in xtra time for airline security, plane delays, taxiing, and all that other airport crap, the maglev train would probably end up bein gsignificantly faster. The best part of the clip is seeing the train whiz by on the bridge portion of the Yamanashi test track. What a machine! *drool*
