Snoopy the Cat loves HD baseball
Posted on January 18th, 2006
HDTV is not only showcasing the imperfections of celebrities, it is finally reaching the standard of quality suitable for discerning felines. Snoopy the HDTV watching cat is a strong supporter of HDTV, and will snub his little nose at standard def TV. Show him some fishies as mondo-resolution and he’s in heaven, pawing at the screen … but animals in analog, he’s not interested. HD seems real to Snoopy.
It’s no mystery that pets love TV as much as we do. Countless badly written jokes on the Planet’s Funniest Animals proves that. But what does Snoopy’s addiction to HDTV tell us? Obviously some pets are more discerning about their TV content, perhaps some are picky about their TV quality. I did some research on the vision of cats, but couldn’t find anything that would cause cats to perceive HDTV as crossing the boundary between an image and reality. Perhaps just like humans, some individuals are more attuned to the resolutions, the color saturation and screen size.
