Of Buried Ships and Earthquakes
Back in 2004, a construction site that I walk by almost every day found an old whaling ship while digging up the earth to start building a high-rise. Wish I'd noticed this article at the time of the discovery - woulda been neat to see a bona-fide contemporary archeological dig with my own eyes ;) In any case, the ship ended up underground because much of SF's port / downtown area is built on reclaimed land from the rapid building up of the city. Also, the city was stricken with several severe fires around 1900 and they bulldozed the debris into the ocean, over ship wrecks and abandoned ship-breaking yards (which is where the recent discovery was). Of course, San Francisco being prone to earthquakes makes building on reclaimed land a particularly bad idea.

Movie Sequels and More
I heard the Passion II is going to be a blockbuster. That would be a tough one to pull off, but I wouldn't be suprised if they tried, what with all the sequels that some out! The first ever movie to have a sequel is 'Fall of a Nation' from 1916 which was the sequel to 'Birth of a Nation.' The movie with the most sequels is the Japanese film 'It's Tough to Be a Man' which had 48 sequels! The US movie industry tops out at 11 with the 'Friday the 13th" series, followed closely by 'Star Trek' with 10. There are no 8s or 9s, and most reach only 3.
