A woman in Los Angeles came down with the Bubonic Plague. I had no idea that was still around. On a related ‘weird disease’ note, a man in Hawaii died from flesh eating bacteria after falling into the Ala Wai canal. Anyone who knows Hawaii is familiar with the brackish nasty canal, but this unlucky fellow fell in soon after heavy rainfall made a sewer burst and inundate Waikiki and the canal with raw sewage. Double gross.

Someone told me about Craigslist’s ‘Missed Connections’ category where people try to connect with someone the saw/met/stalked in real life and want to find again. Smacks of desperation to me, but it make for a good read. Some post are quite random, such as the one about the vomit breathing dragon
