Acoustic Locators (my Tuba is bigger than yours!)

Posted on May 24th, 2006

Before the dawn of radar, the military spent quite a large amount of time researching Acoustic Locators. This typically involved building odd pseudo-speaker-horn-like devices to hear enemy forces from a distance. I wonder if one day the stealth technology of today. or radar, or the use of satellites, or acoustic weapons etc etc will be looked at through the same historical lens of incredulity?
