Anthony Boudain from Lebanon
Posted on August 2nd, 2006
Salon Life has an excellent article called Watching Beirut die written by Anthony Bourdain, host of the Travel Channel’s show “No Reservations”. I really enjoy his laid-back style and witty, sarcastic comments and irreverent attitude - heck he even smokes on the show! I didn’t know smoking on TV was still legal! Anyway, they were filming their show about Beirut, when the shit hit the fan between Israel and Lebanon. Great article, a bit longish, but much recommended.

Love the guy, he’s so real and pretty raw. Saw the Beirut show it was edgy, like watching the real world uncut version. His Monday night show is the best on regular TV, can even bear the commercials just to watch it. Hope it keeps it’s edge and anytime he’s in S.F. I’d like to meet him.

This guy is pure. No screwing around saying food is good when it really isn’t. Always has a drink and a smoke in hand and I really like that. I do not smoke, yet he finds a way to make it cool again like James Dean. His knowledge of food is a pleasure to listen to. I lost him for a while but rediscovered him on the TRVL network and he is on my season pass now. Thank you Boudain for being the man.
