AMV: The Race

Posted on September 19th, 2006

theraceanimemashup.jpgAnime fans always seems to be right there on the forefront of popular internet trends, perhaps even helping drive them. One place this is true is the mashup phenomena. AMVs, or Anime Music Videos, have been aroun for quite a long time, certainly at least as long as the mashup trend. These are fan created videos, using clips from animes and set to music, to convey a new story. Well, the latest I have come across (not really the best out there), The Race by Istiv Studio gets props for the amount of work spent on it. In many of the scenes with multiple characters in them, they have been painstakingly cut out of multiple different animes, and edited into one scene, creating the ultimate cross-over themed race. While not the best AMV I've seen (YouTube: AMV) it sure must have been a lot of work and to be fair, there are much much worse out there. Music is Oooh La La by the Wiseguys horribly abused by the pitch controller.
